Services

At Entrance Road Veterinary Clinic, we take care to provide your pet with high quality services personalized for their unique needs. Our veterinary staff members are professional, courteous and knowledgeable in the services we offer your pets.  We provide a variety of services including:

Immunization and Wellness Care

At Entrance Road Veterinary Clinic, we believe a healthy pet is a happy pet, so we try to prevent illness whenever possible.  The time and effort invested in wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners.  Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, spay and neuter package and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

Surgery

Our doctors adhere to the highest standards in veterinary surgical care, including the use of ECG and gas anesthesia.  We recommend all patients receive a pre-anesthetic blood profile to ensure the safety of your pet during and after surgery.  All surgical patients receive intensive post-surgical care in our hospital ward.  Post-operative home care includes appropriate antibiotic treatment and pain management to ensure the health and well-being of your pet.

Digital Radiology

Digital radiology allows the doctors at Entrance Road Veterinary Clinic to evaluate the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, urinary, and reproductive systems in your pet.  These images assist them in developing the appropriate diagnosis and course of treatment for your pet.  Digital radiology affords us the opportunity to utilize telemedicine to get expert opinions of your pet’s radiographs from board certified veterinary radiologists.

Laboratory

Our veterinary specific in-house chemistry and hematology analyzers provide point of care diagnostic information for timely diagnosis and treatment of many common ailments in pets.  We also use them to provide baseline values as part of a comprehensive approach to your pet’s wellness.  Our in-house laboratory has many other diagnostic capabilities.  We also utilize reference laboratories for tests that are beyond our lab’s capabilities.

Pharmacy

We offer a fully stocked pharmacy with the latest in Veterinary therapeutic drugs and over the counter products available.  We are also able to source most products that we do not carry within 2 business days.

Dental Care

Just as it is for humans, regular professional teeth cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s dental health. Poor dental health is not only harmful to your pet’s teeth, but can cause many other painful and costly ailments.  We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.

Microchipping

Each year thousands of lost and abandoned animals are taken in by humane societies, rescues and shelters across the country.  Some of these animals never make it home because they can’t be identified.  Microchipping offers pet owners the only truly permanent method of identifying your pet and linking the animal back to you, the owner. If you want to dramatically improve your pet’s chances of getting home fast and safely, implanting your pet with a microchip is your best option.

Nutritional Counseling

Some of our pets require special foods for the management of obesity, disease, and other ailments.  As a Veterinary Nutritional Advocate, Dr. Hayes acquired the enhanced ability to confidently and competently advocate for your pet’s best interest through the use of specifically designed diets.

Pain Management

Our pets feel pain just as we do.  Our staff is sensitive to the pain your pet feels and will recommend the best treatment to adequately manage his or her pain.  Alleviating and managing your pet’s pain is just one facet of our commitment to superior patient care.

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), although relatively new to the Western world, is a medical system that has been used in China to treat animals for thousands of years.  It is an adaptation and extension of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) used to treat humans.  Speaking broadly, Chinese Medicine is a complete body of thought and practice grounded in Chinese Daoist philosophy.  Though it can be traced back over two millennia in recorded history, it, like any medical system, continues to evolve today, and current research on acupuncture and herbal medicine is beginning to shed light on its mechanism of action.

Hospice/Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to a pet is painful, especially those that you consider a member of your family.  We work with you to ensure your pet’s comfort and dignity in the final stages of his life and also offer private cremation upon request.

Exotic Pets

Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increases. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance of living longer and healthier lives. Dr. Hayes has treated exotic animals since graduating in 2004 and is looking forward to caring for your unique pet.

Boarding

We offer full service 24-hour boarding for your pet when you have to be away.  Our trained staff is equipped to handle any special needs your pet has so you can rest easy knowing he is in capable hands.

Grooming and Bathing

Our full service grooming facility employs the latest practices in pet grooming.  Whether your pet needs a complete bath, cut and style or just a good bath, a groom is a real treat for your pet.  Our on-premises grooming facility offers the convenience of getting your pet’s grooming and veterinary services all in one place.

Educational Seminars and Clinics

The staff at Entrance Road Veterinary Clinic believes that public education is critical for ensuring the health and well-being of the pet population.  Our doctors are available by appointment to speak to students about the importance of caring for their pets and about their interest in the veterinary profession.
